The opening riff to Last Exam sees an energetic delivery of a catchy Rock riff and chorus. Singer Bobby Black wails well and carries the performance of the band. They stretch out their sound a bit in Freedom Zone, which features a nice guitar solo by Alex Serkin, and a strong, balls-out chorus. This track would be a good track to feature as a single and / or video. You in Me might capture the albums approach best. The verses are terse and easy going, and they push hard at the chorus with a lot of excitement and zeal. Like a good anthem, it is designed to stick in your head and cause you to sing along. The song Insane is a bit gentler, a swooning Love track if you will. At times I feel a little more production, thickness to the instrumental parts might push their sound with some memorable complexity, but the guitar solo was well heartfelt and well-constructed with the main melody.

Little People is a memorable track, and I like the use of lead guitar fills during the chorus. There is a bit of THE CURE interwoven in the track, though not the despondent side of the band. But the band really nails the meaningful and momentous in the track Stop the Rain. Ive played it a few times for pleasure now outside of this review. It has a very gentle but pleasing melody line that lingers between hope and despair. Very well done. Here We Go is a fitting ending song to the album, with plenty of zip and a quickened pace.

They almost have me here. Though I am a staunch Metalhead, I like a lot of songs from the realm of softer Rock as well, and appreciate any good melodies. Overall, it has that post-Emo / Rock Pop sort of tinge to it that seems to be so popular today. Instrumentation is kept simple in the interplay between riff, verse and chorus. A highlight would be the style and vocal range of front-man Bobby Black, along with his varied singing style. The presentation is energetic and the songs are easy to connect with. The hooks are there and it is fairly straightforward Rock / Pop that would present itself nicely on radio.
